Why do we remember some dreams, but not others?
I read somewhere that we have several dreams every night (I can't remember the exact figure)... Is this true?

I used to write points down when i dreamed, i often started off dreaming about what i was wanting to dream, often when i woke up in the middle of the night, it was something else and i usually found my strangest dreams were before i fully woke up in the morning.
The ones i often remember are the ones which shock you - i know i have woken up going WTF! never really understood why we never remember dreams like memories, they are clearly playing in our head, maybe in a different part of our brain!

I love nightmares.. It's a shame that I rarely have any anymore.. nightmares gave me a huge adrenaline rush, much more then metal can give me..(sometimes)
