If you had ever seen Stephen King's IT, it's the most likely cause behind your fear of clowns at the time. I swear whenever I mentioned Pennywise the Clown to my friends online back in the old days they would always get scared. I don't get it...clowns are supposed to be hilarious. -.-

Clowns are very common because so many people have a phobia about them, in dreams if you do not have a phobia often means childishness, an innocence and playing instinct but if you have a phobia it often represents someone in your life whom you are unsure about - someone who is not what they seem and you have a hidden fear that they may cause you harm, whether it be physical or emotional.
Because you were younger when you had these dreams, i believe it was just an insecurity, many children fear clowns for some reason.
I have never really seen the real reason why people fear clowns, ok, they hide behind makeup but my mum has a fear and i could never understand why, i always pictured them as playful and innocent

I find clowns quite freaky. I don't particularly fear them, but I'm definitely not a big fan... I think I've seen too many horror films! lol

BTW IT rules! i <3 that film. One of my favorites and one which despite my lack of fear of clowns, did give me shivers for many weeks.

It's not really a good idea to insult another country, Twanger. Even if you're just joking. I'm from the United States of America myself, and sure I don't like Bush sometimes, but insulting him is just as well as insulting our country.
Back to clowns...
Also, I have a proposal of this;
Children often hear of bad people these days. They know of "supervillians" hiding behind masks, and they are aware that there is a certain kind of people who would love to get into their pants. They could view the clown as a symbol of those kinds of people, because for one the clown always look like they are innocent and they're always smiling, frowning, whatever the emotion is. I just had two little boys tell me about this earlier today when I went to the daycare. I had asked several kids if they were scared of clowns, and quite a few had raised their hands. When I asked why, that was the apparent answer I had gotten. Children are often scared of clowns because they don't know the true person behind that mask. If a human being had appeared right before them, a total stranger, without any paint or such on the face, they would stick around a bit and give small talk. But imagine if a clown had approached them, a clown they barely knew. Well, you would know if you had your own child coming up straight at you screaming at the top of his or her lungs that a clown was out to kill them.

For one, how is insulting one individual asswipe insulting an entire country??? I dont care if you are the son of Bush, he is still a prick in my book! So if you dont like what i have to say about him, its just too bad.

I will send you a personal message, Twanger, as this isn't the place to discuss politics.

Well we will see how the new movie turns out of IT! i am quite interested to see how it is, but i believe it will not be as good as the tv-movie. You can not have Pennywise without Tim Curry playing him!
