I'm not having a great couple of days... so I thought I'd post here and see if you guys could cheer me up!
Here's the thing...
I'm organising an all day gig (due to take place 3rd October) and I've had the venue booked pretty much since December last year. Yesterday I find out that the venue is no more! I knew that they were going to be closing eventually, but I was told that they would honour my gig. The guy that I booked the gig through tried to buy the venue (at above market value!) and was told he couldn't have it because the powers that be "didn't want that kind of thing in an up and coming area". I'm sorry, but if that area's up and coming then Britney Spears is the f**king pope!
Even if it is 'up and coming', a metal pub is hardly going to hurt it! Don't these people realise that most Metalheads (like 'normal people') have jobs and can spend money in their precious up and coming area? Idiots...
Well, now I'm trying to find a new venue with little over a month to go... when most venues are already booked up... and I can't really change the date because I've got two bands flying in from overseas.
This really sucks!
But, hopefully I'll be able to work something out...
