Usually, when searching for music online, I find bands on either MySpace or CD Maximum. In this case I have Facebook to thank... or, rather, my cousin's friend on Facebook to thank. After a recommendation from him I purchased Egypt Central's album from Amazon.
At first glance (and possibly at first listen) Egypt Central could easily be dismissed as a "Kiddie band". Basically, they look like they could be adored by legions of 15 year old fans and that very soon there will be a group Egypt Central hoodie-wearing teenagers in every town on the planet. While I have no doubts that Egypt Central will appeal to this crowd, it is not undeserved and the band shouldn't be ignored by anyone over the age of 20 purely due to this.
Egypt Central's self-titled album does not contain any below-quality tracks. I cannot find a single one. Zilch. Nada. Nothing. Every track on this album could easily be a number one single and I find that when playing the album from start to finish I never need to skip any tracks. It's for this reason that you need to check this band out. It is also the reason that I long for them to tour in the UK.
Every song on the album has it's own character and the album still manages to flow together nicely. The choruses here are of the BIG, stadium-filling quality and will stuck in your head for weeks... and, when the songs are this good, you'll be happy that they're stuck in your head. In fact, you'll try to put them in there yourself by listening to this CD repeatedly.
Egypt Central seem to be a relatively young band, and if this is what they're capable of now, then surely world domination is just around the corner.
