I like to read. A lot. So I'm always keen to sink my teeth into something new.
I have, however, become rather disappointed with the selection of books that are available in my local bookshops. You see, many books at the moment are suffering from what I like to call "Buffy the Vampire Syndrome). Basically all of the books revolve around a man or woman who happens to be a vampire/werewolf (delete as appropriate) and who then falls in love with a policeman/woman /private investigator/writer. As far as I'm concerned, this is not horror - this is romance. If I wanted romance, I'd go to the romance section... but I don't... I want to be scared!
So, I need some recommendations from you. I want some seriously scary books! I've become pretty jaded, and it takes a lot to scare me, but I still think it can be done....
Oh, and a bit of gore wouldn't go amiss either
