I was just wondering why all of the threads in that board have been locked. It seems a bit bizarre to me - I know Blake has already offered his opinion on what the explanations could be, but I thought it would be cool if other members could comment on them as well. You never know, we might get a new member who is also really into interpretting dreams and they might have a different take on it... Or, we may get a new member who has had the same or similar dream as one that's already been posted.
I don't know, it just seems a waste to lock them. Especially since there doesn't really seem to be much of a reason for it - after all, it's not like they were going 'off-topic' or anything like that.

Yes i agree the answers by Blake were good but others will no doubt want to have their say upon joining. I will unlock these threads!

I only lock threads when no one has responded to them for a week. Sorry, it's just a force of habit, and I will wait another week for them to be responded to. If nothing, then I guess I will need to lock them again, that's all.

What's the point in locking the thread after a week? What happens if another member joins in one week and 2 days or something?
Talking from personal experience, on my own forum I only lock threads if they've gone completely off-topic, if they're part of a competition and the competition has now closed or if they were offensive in someway / had two members arguing in. Locking a thread if it hasn't been replied to after a week seems a bit counterproductive - especially in a forum as small as this where it's still growing.
Those are just my thoughts anyway.

Next time, I ask that you send me a personal message instead of making this a unnecessary topic.
When I locked the topics in the Nightmare forum, it was because there were only a few of us making any posts at all, and therefore no reason for us to respond to our old topics. I would unlock them if we had more members posting around, but these days it seems only guests posting their links around and people joining but not posting. At least this would prevent spam, which is something no one wants to have to see in anyone's forums.
If you have any more questions, please send me a personal message.

Next time, I ask that you send me a personal message instead of making this a unnecessary topic. This is just going to go on and on, isn't it? I didn't think it was worthy of a personal message, as it wasn't a personal matter. It wasn't a personal attack on you - it was just a query and suggestion regarding the locking of topics. Posting about it in here (the Site Improvements board where we are supposed to post such topics) opens the subject out for others to give their own opinions - including, most importantly, SoulSnake himself. I'm sorry if you took it personally, I really am. When I locked the topics in the Nightmare forum, it was because there were only a few of us making any posts at all, and therefore no reason for us to respond to our old topics. Yes, there are currently only a few of us. But, you cannot predict when new members will join (over the past few hours we've already acquired some new members) and you also cannot predict which topics the members will want to post in. Also, it may even be possible that one of the existing members may want to add some further information to their posts - they may have remembered something else, or even had the same dream again. Leaving the threads open means that there are more opportunites for discussion... which is kinda the whole point in forums anyway - Would you agree? I would unlock them if we had more members posting around, but these days it seems only guests posting their links around and people joining but not posting. At least this would prevent spam, which is something no one wants to have to see in anyone's forums. That particular board (as far as I'm aware) is not open for guests to post in, so the chances of someone spamming are minimal. The only way they could spam it, is if they signed up and then posted something. If that's the case all you need to do is ban them and delete the post. If you have any more questions, please send me a personal message. I will do - but only if it's a personal matter. As I said, as far as I'm concerned this board is for suggestions and I will continue to make suggestions in it when I think of ideas. These ideas are never meant to be a personal attack on any member of the forum - staff or otherwise. I apologise if you have taken any of this personally, but I do not apologise for raising the issue and giving my opinions.
