I've actually heard of that book Lou, never read it though I didn't think that it would be all that great, I'm definatly reconsidering reading it though! There's a series of books all relating to this main character. The first one is "Necroscope" and then the series continues from there. The other focus of the books is Lumley's intreptation of vampires - which is brilliant. His vampires are a welcome alternative from the dross that people like Anne Rice bring out. His vampire world is awesome Start with "Necroscope" (obviously!) and then move onto the rest. You'll love 'em! (and you'll probably be able to pick them up quite cheaply second-hand now.

Everyone wants to believe in Heaven, especially when you lose someone that you care about. I think the whole idea of Heaven and Hell was made up to keep people in line (with the threat of sinners going to Hell) and relatives and good people going to Heaven. It does give you peace of mind thinking that someone that you care about lives on in a place where they will never experience pain again, I know that I couldn't help thinking that when I lost my grandfather, the thought of his exsistance just stopping when he died was just unbareable!
I am an Athist and am very loud with my disbelief in god, but I think that the belief in god, heaven and hell etc is quite necessary to those who need something to believe in, the belief that there is a higher being and that there is a reward for leading a good and healthy life.

At the moment, with the death of my gran, i am beginning to feel a sense of heaven, i know when i think of her i always feel she is up there looking over me and when i speak to her i always look up as if there is a presence of her up there. I think my believe in heaven is widening now so the feeling of hell is beginning to grow too. one can not co-exist without the other so therefore i am beginning to believe in a hell now.

Seeing as I'm Atheist, I don't believe in Hell. I have a hard time believing that you go somewhere other than underground when you die. Religion in general frustrates me, but that's a story for another day.

All opionions are welcome, all voices are heard. That may very well be what happens when we die. I'm leaning more to the Atheist beliefs and saying the hell with all other religions because if their really is a "God", why hasn't he helped out any. I'm sticking with saying, "hey, s**t happens."

The whole concept of God just frustrates me and gives me a headache, but that's off topic.

The whole concept of God just frustrates me and gives me a headache, but that's off topic. It is the ultimate question that won't be answered until the end! I'm with you though, believe what you will and let it be!
