[size=5Now I comment on this not as an expert in things horrible, though ht I have seen some art that would certainly meet that criteria but as a part-time artistist, since about the age of 6, is when I actually started mixing my colors and putting brush to canvas. The folks paid for the oil paint till I was older, with a part time job, and could pay for the oil paint myself but when a pic. got sold, I damn sure kept the payment. Now back to "horror art", as each one probably has their own definition as to what "it" is, I'm not going to sit here, during my break, and tell you "what it is". I have my own definition, as I am sure you have yours. I really doubt that anyone is going to be vain enough to say what it is and everyone will agree with him or her, as if one person is the sole source of knowledge. At least I haven't met them yet. So what is it? Horrible paintings of "monsters"?, dwellers of the "Underworld" inflicting pain on those unfortunates unlucky enough to be sent there?, "unnatural creatures born to humans or to their own kind"? Victim's of man's inhumanity to man?, Results of acts that would make deSade turn away with disgust? What about those of legends?, superstitions?, what might have been close to real but to horrible to contemplate as being too close to humanity/ I've found H.P. Lovecraft, a master in painting a descriptive picture with words that one could almost copy, if one was skillful enough to do so. Those would truly be horrible images to gaze upon. I apologize for rambling on without giving anyone an answer, due to the fact, there are no answers, art is within, good, bad, or ugly, and what is shown on canvas is often an interpretation of that what lays inside but not something the owner wishes everyone to see.][/size]
